Learn To Ride

This truly is the inspiration for CycleFest. In some of our Youth en Route participating high schools, up to 10% of grade 10 students have never ridden a bike. Our Cyclists In Residence team get 98% of them riding, and the first question they ask us while they bask in the glow of accomplishment is : “Can you teach my dad/mom/brother/friend too?” Now is your opportunity to bring those who never got the chance to learn. Register to learn with our experts and ring the bell to celebrate another biker joining the flock.

Downtown Loop

Do the downtown mobility lanes intimidate you? Are you unsure of how to navigate those strange green boxes with 4 arrows? Join the team at Calgary Climate Hub on a guided ride to demystify those odd markings, learn how to position yourself to keep safe and explore all of the fun that Downtown Calgary has to offer on two wheels. If you want to check it out, but are not planning to ride to CycleFest, add a bike to your order to get a loaner Bird e-bike for the tour.

Why It Matters

When young people have a bike — and the skills to use it safely — they gain independence, confidence, and connection to their community.

CycleFest helps remove barriers to mobility while building a more inclusive, active city.
